Robert Petro was born in New York City on February 6, 1939 he presently resides in Stuart, Florida. In 1973 a physician learning of Robert's reputation with outstanding accuracy, spiritual insight and healing gifts invited him to his office. The physician asked Robert if he had ever been hypnotized. He hadn't, but replied he was a willing candidate. When asked his name under hypnosis, Robert replied "My name is Kumar, but that is strange because I know my name is Bob Petro."

This statement led to the discovery of Kumar. Upon questioning Robert about Kumar it was revealed that Kumar is an "enlightened being" of higher intelligence, with unlimited knowledge who speaks through Robert's physical body while he is in an altered state of consciousness, also known as a "trance." When Kumar is speaking through Robert his manner of speaking and terminology dramatically changes. The first trance reading astounded the doctor. The medical diagnoses and recommendations Kumar provided were all confirmed.

As more and more trances were conducted Robert's doubts and fears began to subside. His comprehension increased as he observed the information helping people, as it was confirmed and the predictions came to pass. Kumar continued to reveal himself and the information became more astonishing. He provides enlightenment to humanity on all levels: intellectually, psychologically and above all, spiritually. It became apparent that this valuable information was not to be kept within a small circle of family and friends. Robert feels the time is right to release his archived library of General Trances to the public.

General Trance sessions are conducted by a committee of volunteers who decide on a topic and present questions to Robert. He has no prior knowledge of the topic. He enters into the trance and begins with a spontaneous opening statement. This statement may, or may not, be related to the topic chosen.

The committee then decides whether to pursue the information in the opening statement or the chosen topic. This is why a trance may have many subjects and the opening statement may be unrelated to the rest of the trance.
